Una experiencia de AP Español

Imagina que estás de vacaciones en un país hispanohablante y tienes un problema con tus dientes, y necesitas visitar a un dentista para arreglar la situación. Claro que sí, esto les sucede todo el tiempo a turistas que vienen de todo el mundo, ¿pero cuántos de ellos tienen éxito en sus viajes al extranjero y necesitan ir a un dentista que no habla ninguna palabra de inglés? Ahora, gracias a mi clase de español, yo sé como podría controlarme en cualquier circunstancia que tuviera en un lugar hispanohablante y perdiera mi equipaje o, me perdiera yo mismo en la ciudad, o tuviera preguntas sobre un espectáculo de arte.

Muchas personas inmediatamente se horrorizan cuando oyen las palabras intimidantes: The College Board, pero no es tan malo. Gracias al College Board, tenemos el examen de AP Español que consiste en la comprensión de la lectura, comprensión auditiva, escrituras formales e informales, y orales formales e informales. Nos hemos preparado para cada parte del extenso examen en mi clase, pero no ha sido un dolor. No me ha parecido una carga. Me encanta encontrarme divagando inconscientemente por una conversación simulada, una sección del examen en la cual los estudiantes tienen que hablar con una computadora, refiriéndose a las instrucciones del esquema de una conversación informal entre varios tipos de personas como amigos, maestros, y trabajadores. Ashley Zarian (’11) está de acuerdo: “Pienso que las conversaciones simuladas estimulan la mente para que podamos imaginar que realmente somos de un país hispanohablante”.

Entonces con este propósito, vemos que nuestras clases de español son tan avanzadas como puedan ser, y es seguro decir que las personas que toman las clases de AP Español mejoran su fluidez por el plan de estudio proporcianado por el College Board.

An Experience from AP Spanish

Imagine that you are on vacation in a Spanish-speaking country, and you have a problem with you teeth, and you need to see a dentist to fix you situation. Of course, this happens all of the time to tourists that come from all over the world, but how many of them have successful trips to foreign countries and need to see a dentist that does not speak a single word of English? Now, thanks to my Spanish class, I know how I could manage myself in whatever circumstance that I could possibly encounter en a Spanish speaking place: if I lost my luggage, or if I got lost in a city, or if I had questions about an art exhibit.

Many people immediately become terrified when they hear the intimidating words: The College Board, but it is not all so bad. Thanks to the College Board, we have the AP Spanish exam which consists of reading comprehension, listening comprehension, formal and informal writing, and formal and informal oral presentations. He have prepared for each part of the long exam in my class, but it has not been a pain. It does not seem to be a burden to me. I love finding myself rambling unconsciously through a simulated conversation, a section of the exam in which the students need to speak with a computer, referring to the instructions of the prompt of an informal conversation between many different types of people such as friends, teachers, and workers. Ashley Zarian (’11) agrees: “I think that the simulated conversations stimulate the mind so that we are able to imagine that we are actually from a Spanish-speaking country”.

So, with this goal, we see that our Spanish classes are as advanced as they can be, and it is safe to say that the people that take the AP Spanish classes improve their fluency because of the plan of studying provided by the College Board.
