On February 23, The Archer School for Girls will host its fifth annual “Literary And” conference, which allows advanced students chosen by teachers to share their writing with a broader audience.

Students Jesse Paller ’11, Ariel Schnitzer ’11, and Daniel Spielberger ’11 from the AP Literature course have submitted their works and been invited to attend the conference. Not only will the students present their work, but they will also answer questions from the audience.

“This gives the students a great opportunity to present their works to a larger audience,” Felicia Hellman, head of the English department, said.

Schnitzer and Spielberger will present a psychological analysis on Jane Eyre, while Paller will present a short story.

The experience is unfamiliar for the students, but they are eager to participate. The students credit the AP Literature course for expanding their literary abilities and leaving them confident to openly present their works.

“I am so excited to present my writing at the literary conference. It’s a special feeling to know that my writing is being recognized beyond the classroom and by experts in the field,” Schnitzer said.
