Milken Spanish department plans trip to Argentina

Milken’s Spanish department is offering its first ever trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina from June 7 to 17.

“Students will be enriched by getting to know a cosmopolitan country in South America that is culturally famous for its music, leather goods, sports, fashion and history,” Ms. Jenny Kopelioff, Spanish teacher and trip coordinator, said.

Students currently enrolled in a Spanish course will have a chance to enhance their speaking skills. However, students who have never taken the language will be given a taste of Argentinian culture.

In addition to Buenos Aires’s signature sites, items on the agenda include a visit to a nature preserve to see exotic animals, an Argentinean ranch to learn about the gauchos, a tango lesson, and a get-together with Jewish high school students.

“We will also visit important Jewish organizations and learn about how the Argentinean Jews live in the Diaspora,” Kopelioff said.

Since the trip has been approved by the administration, students have no need to worry about missing classes or exams.
