As the TIF trip departure date draws near, students are beginning to feel both the excitement and pressure that comes with preparing for such a long and meaningful trip.
From paperwork and meetings to packing lists and shopping, students who signed up for TIF are working around the clock to get ready for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Anticipation is growing – along with a sense of responsibility and excitement.
In the weeks leading up to the trip, TIF students have been preparing both mentally and physically. They’ve been attending meetings, going shopping, discussing the schedule and discussing expectations.
Chloe Yadegar ‘28 has been shopping for clothes for Shabbat, hikes and everyday activities. She has also attended many meetings focused on schedules, expectations and concerns.
TIF students also have to finalize their grades because their Milken school year ends in March.
“I have to get all my grades up and final before I leave,” said Yadegar.
Agam Spindler ‘28 agrees.
“I have been meeting with my counselors to get my grades up,” she said.
Students are not only focusing on finishing strong at school, but also on what awaits them in Hod HaSharon. While the pressure of grades and meetings can be intense, it is matched by a growing sense of excitement for the experiences, activities, and connections that await for them on TIF.
“I am most excited about making new connections, making new friends, and getting closer to people. We are also going horseback riding, going on a four day hike and going to water parks, which will be so fun,” Yadegar said.
As students look ahead to everything the trip has to offer, they are especially excited for the chance to immerse themselves in Israeli culture and experience daily life in a new environment.
“I’m looking forward to speaking Hebrew every day and improving my skills while learning more about the language and culture,” Nikita Imas ‘28 said.
Beyond the activities and travel, students are also looking forward to the personal growth that comes from spending several weeks away from home, stepping outside of their comfort zones, and sharing meaningful moments with their classmates.
“I have been looking forward to this since I came to Milken. I’m grateful for the chance to create stronger friendships and form meaningful connections,” Tobin Negrin ‘28 said.
