After a long and competitive campaigning process, the road has come to the end for many, but the road is just beginning for others. It’s time to meet the 9th grade class council and government.

What’s your favorite thing about each other?

Lauren: I really like the way her eyelashes curl up. It really gets me.  It makes my happiness fly up like a little pigeon.

Kayla: I like that she has the most common name in the school but is so different than everyone else.

Lauren: Awww that’s so cute!

Do you guys have a nickname?

Lauren: We’re the dream team.

Kayla: Yeah.

Lauren: Cohen Squared.

Kayla: That’s so unoriginal. We’ll think about it.

What makes you guys different?

Kayla: Lauren is the funny one and knows how to make everyone smile and I’m the serious one.

Lauren: We bring the perfect balance.

What famous duo are you guys?

Kayla: Cheech and Chong.

Lauren: Ted and Robin from How I met Your Mother.

Kayla: Ghormeh sabzi and rice.

Any secret talents?

Lauren: I can fold my tongue in half.

Kayla: I trip over myself.

Favorite place at Milken?

Both: Chava’s fruit stand.

What are you going to do for the school?

Lauren: I think, I’m gonna bring a blender to Chava, so it can be like Chava smoothies or Chava Juice… I promise you right now [that you will come to] every event. YES YOU!

Where you would rather be right now:

Kayla: Well, I should be at basketball conditioning right now…

Lauren: The beach, ‘cause the beach is my scene!

Lauren: We are gonna work, work work this out… (pause) Her eyebrows get me everytime.

Kayla: You said it was my eyelashes.

Lauren: It’s both.

Check back next week for the second part of our series where we interview the 10th grade president and vice president, Aviva Fallas and Oliver Pourbaba.
