The 85 Annual Academy Awards is coming up this Sunday. In past years, the winners in several categories appeared to be wildly predictable. However, this year promises to be an exciting race, especially for the Best Picture category. Argo, one of the favorites for best picture, failed to receive a nomination for Best Director – a category often associated with the Best Picture category. However, Lincoln, one of the other frontrunners, did in fact receive a Best Director nomination for Steven Spielberg. In short, we are not totally certain about any of these picks. To give a more balanced opinion, we incorporated the opinions of our fellow Journalism peers. Here are our picks for this year’s Oscars. Enjoy!
