Mr. Tyler to become certified masseur

Mr. Tarince Tyler, one of Milken’s remarkable librarians, has been in intensive masseur training for nearly a year. Following in his mother’s footsteps, Tyler has completed 480 hours out of the 500 hours required to become certified. He is proud that he will reach his goal in just a few weeks, when he completes his courses at the National Holistic Institute.
For more than 20 years, Tyler’s mother has been practicing massage and inspiring Tyler to take up the art form. At one point, Tyler became uninterested and pursued other education, but after realizing his mother would be retiring soon, he decided to focus on massage.
“This time, I am not giving up,” Tyler said.
Tyler plans to work as part of a spa at first, and eventually go into private practice.
“It’s all about marketing yourself,” Tyler added.
Tyler plans to begin marketing after he becomes certified, and will create a website among other things. In addition to working at a spa, Tyler will massage the children on his son’s soccer team as well as their parents. Eventually, Tyler plans to go into business for himself.
Tyler is more than happy to answer any questions students have about his new career path as a masseur.
