That we don’t use foul language or have a sense of humor.
Most creative gift, given or received:
My daughter Malena is very creative.
Movie you’ve seen the most:
Kill Bill: Volume 1.
Book you’ve read most:
Just began 3rd round of the Harry Potter Series.
Fictional character you identify with:
Many say that I look like Al Bundy. I have also been compared to Robert on Everybody Loves Raymond. Emma says that I am Phil on Modern Family, but I don’t buy it.
Obsolete item you wont trash:
My wife says that it is me.
What you wanted to be at age 10:
NBA Basketball Player. I had a lot of heart and smarts, but a lack of leaping ability, quickness and limited range on my jump shot that held me back.
Student pet peeve:
Have something relevant to say in mind before you raise your hand.
Procrastination technique:
Watching sports on TV.
Favorite historical figure:
Branch Rickey was a pioneer because he led the movement to racially integrate sports.
Favorite piece of art in your home/anywhere:
My wife Gitte chooses the art and claims that I don’t have the capability to appreciate it.
Movie star you always wanted to be:
I wish that I could be as pragmatic and respected as Harvey Keitel as Mr. Wolfe in Pulp Fiction .
Favorite gadget:
Gadgets just frustrate me.
Topic you love but wont discuss at a party:
Nobody wants to talk about the fiscal cliff.
The last meal you had:
I do the cooking so it is better if I forget the last meal that I had.
Funniest English word(s):
My mom used the word “flummoxed” the other day and I cracked up.
Most memorable teaching experience:
13 years ago a student expressed his displeasure with another student by bending over and pulling down his pants. That was quite a welcome to the teaching profession.
Most visited website, why:
I don’t spend much time on the computer but I am consistently checking scores on espn.com.
Favorite cancelled-too-soon TV show:
Freaks and Geeks.
Most beloved/interesting item at your office desk:
After teaching psychology, students gave me a bobo doll. Students also gave me an autographed copy of Naked Economics.
Most memorable college experience:
Making up a 28 point deficit in a basketball game against Point Loma. Great times!
