Milken Night Live: Coming Next Year

Are you a fan of “Saturday Night Live”? Well, then get excited for “Milken Night Live.”
MNL will be a sketch comedy show that includes shorts, musical performances with a live band, and funny commercials. It will also contain a weekend update and several other hilarious sketches written and performed live on stage by Milken students.
“I had this idea. It was just about theater kids finding out a way to have fun. I always thought of it as a theater program that was student-run. I never expected so much work to be done for it,” Adam Stark ’13, producer, said.
The show is not a mockery of “Saturday Night Live,” but a version that has to do with Milken lives. Ideas for sketches will not only be inspired by Milken events, but also current events around the world.
“Adam took the idea to Advance Theater Projects and I was very interested in it. So I asked him if I could be a co-producer on it because it sounded like something that was right up my alley,” Benny Pitt ’14, producer, said.
The show will be held on Sunday nights in the Milken theater three times during the 2012-2013 school year. That dates and ticket prices for the shows have not yet been finalized.
MNL is completely student-led. The faculty advisor is Mr. Robert Menna, theater teacher.
If you are interested in auditioning, contact Benny Pitt or Adam Stark, the founders and producers, before May 18. Auditions take place during Lishma May 21-25. Rehearsals for the show next year will be held during Lishma periods.
