March Student Q+A Part One- Dani Kohanzadeh ’12
The Q+A- From this month on until the end of the school year, we’re focusing on the seniors. Therefore, this month we’ll be interviewing only two seniors – no teachers. This month we sat down with senior Dani Kohanzadeh.

Common misconception about me: That I’m a pre-pubescent little boy. Or that I’m unorganized. I’m not unorganized, just forgetful!
Most creative gift, given or received: My best friend has one of those typical Sea World photoshopped pictures of her at 3-years-old riding a flying Shamu. A friend and I got her a 3D version of the photo. We went to a toy store and got a mini plastic baby in a pink dress, riding a mini Shamu! That was cool of us. (It wasn’t really my idea though.)
Movie you’ve seen most: Mary Poppins or The Lion King.
Book you’ve read the most: Ludwig Bemelmans’ Madeline series.
One thing I can’t live without: SOCKS, and juice (duh).
What you wanted to be at age 10: A fireman or Hilary Duff (some dreams never die…).
Favorite gadget: I really like using scissors. Even in preschool, my favorite activity was “to cut things with scissors.” It’s just really relaxing and keeps me focused.
Teacher pet peeve: When they make me cry.
Procrastination technique: I like to eat. I sometimes pretend I can cook, and try to create new dishes to avoid starting my work. And constantly rechecking FirstClass – I’m always waiting for that “ding” sound when I get a new message.
Student hobby: Learning new things. Going to class. I love that.
Favorite thing about being a senior: Getting to have lunch with Mr. Ablin!!!!!!!!!!
Movie star you wish you could take to prom: Natalie Portman (Mitchell Aftalion ’12 already mentioned her in his Q&A. But I’ve been claiming her forever. That’s just too bad, Mitchell… find someone else!)
Topic you love but wouldn’t talk about in a college interview: Sneezing while driving is so dangerous; I just don’t understand how it’s legal. And my hit-list. It’s exclusive but ever-growing.
Favorite class you’ve taken at Milken: High honors Jewish thought with RBK. Those last three minutes of class when we niggun are the best.
Funniest Hebrew word: Fata morgana (mirage).
Most memorable learning experience: Pre-school.
Favorite Milken trend: Atheism.
Most beloved/interesting item in your school bag: My zipper pencil bag. The people love it! It unzips all the way. I actually hate it though, because it is oh-so-beloved.
