Gabi Kamran ‘15, award winner of the American Jewish Heritage Month writing contest, was the first recipient of the Norman E. Alexander Award for Excellence in Jewish Student Writing. Kamran was surprised at a senior class meeting on October 1st with the award of both a $500 check and a commemorative silver medal. The winning essay was written about Betty Friedan, an American author, activist, and feminist.
“Betty is a role model of mine, and when I heard about the opportunity to write an essay about a Jewish American who has done Tikkun Olam, I immediately thought of her,” Kamran said.
Congrats Gabi! Milken is proud of you!
