Generally, the girls play on the girls soccer team, and the guys play on the guys soccer team. Don’t tell that to Junior ’14 Tali Stern, who made the boys varsity soccer team this year.
When the girls soccer team did not get enough people to tryout, the girls were allowed to tryout for the boys soccer team. Stern, a Center / Midfield, had played two years of varsity soccer with the girls team.
While at first she felt somewhat uncomfortable, Stern has become accustomed to the guys and the guys have made her feel very welcome to the team. Stern feels that playing with the guys will help her become a much more aggressive soccer player and improve her skills overall.
