The Milken Roar

About

The Roar is the student-run newspaper at Milken Community School.

The Roar’s mission is to give students an opportunity to express their voices, seek truth, and educate their peers. The Roar strives to inform readers on matters regarding the Milken community, as well as subjects surrounding greater social discourse. The Roar aims to cover topics through fair and ethical reporting with a Jewish and journalistic lens.

Through Milken’s Journalism class, students create articles in a variety of journalistic writing styles to post on The Roar. Students have the opportunity to write about an array of topics that interest them, all while learning the fundamentals of reporting, interviewing, and writing. Students, under the guidance of faculty advisor Mr. Karpel, upload articles each week onto The Roar.
