About the Milken Roar

The Roar is the online student news network of Milken Community High School. Our website is fully managed and run by Milken’s journalism students, with collaboration from the Video Production department as well as a variety of guest contributors and featured artists.

The “print edition” of the Milken Roar has been a campus tradition since 1999, with early planning stages for the development of an online edition starting in 2009. The Milken Roar officially launched in November, 2010 with the purpose of providing an interactive forum for all Milken students and community members to create, share, and enjoy a wide variety of enriching journalism and live media.

The website was built by a team of students and alumni over a 6-month period, and is constantly being improved and revised. We invite you to browse the many news stories, commentators, videos, photo galleries, and blog posts and then contribute your own ideas and opinions to the discussion via our commenting system or send a letter to the editor.
