After Tuesday nights 0-0 draw to Sierra Canyon, the Boys Varsity Soccer Team improved their record to 7-2-3. They continue to dominate competition, as they are undefeated in league play heading into the final stretch of the year.
Last week, the Wildcats endured one of their only losses on the year against the Beverly Hills Normans. The game, which was dominated by the opposition, ended with a 5-1 loss. However, the annual MS soccer game is about more than soccer. The event aims to raise awareness and money for a debilitating nerve disease.
Joshua Faggen ’14 said, “It is a really good game to test how well we can play against a team in a much higher division. It is also a great opportunity to raise money for a good cause while also having fun and improving.“
As the season carries on, the Wildcats must look for more options on offense as several key sophomores left for Tiferet. Brandon Yeshoua ’15 and Ari Wininger ’15 are offensive threats and are among the leading goal scorers for the Wildcats this year.
In order to fulfill their goal of winning the league the team will have to work together to create offense. That should not be a problem as Faggen puts it, “We have a very balanced team. We have good passing and we move off the ball.”
